African airlines have lost $ 8.1 billion due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the African Airlines Association (Afraa) said in an analysis by Financial Afrik.
According to the same source, which announces a recovery planned for the third quarter of 2020, the financial impact of the Covid-19 on the sector remains severe.
If nearly 6.7 billion dollars were recorded as revenue in 2019, only 1.7 billion revenues are expected from passenger transport at the end of 2020, a decrease of 5 billion, notes Afraa.
