Anyone who has ever been in a relationship or is currently in a stable relationship knows that intimacy returns with everyday relationship life – and that often means a few extra pounds suddenly end up on your hips and stomach. It was the same with this special couple: Sandra (39) and René met 19 years ago, got married in 2008 and the relationship grew. But together they declared war on unwanted pounds – and lost tremendously without a tough sports program!

In an interview with the newspaper “Bild”, the two revealed how this could have happened. “I was 83 kg when we got married. We are absolute epicureans. Especially when eating, ”says Sandra.

Losing weight without exercise: Together they lost 111 kilograms

But her husband, who weighed 167 pounds at the time of her marriage, had a negative effect on her health. “My husband could not sit, stand or walk due to the severe pain. He just lay down on the sofa. This time he was very tough because there was nothing more we could do. “

So they decided to fight the extra pounds and embarked on their weight loss adventure together. Together they started walking short distances to keep going. But a miscarriage in Sandra caused her weight loss plans to fail again. Although she was told that she could no longer have children, she suddenly became pregnant in 2012.

But after giving birth, the weight had risen to 105 kilos. “I no longer felt comfortable and was ashamed of my appearance, especially in front of my husband,” she says.

Trick for Weight Loss: They started their sports program with walking

Various weight loss programs didn’t work, so the two developed their own plan. Sandra switched her diet to low-carb, so rice, pasta, and potatoes disappeared from the menu. At first her husband couldn’t get used to her, she tells her in the “Bild”. “When the first few pounds dropped, he was completely there.” She also kept a log of meals and calories burned.

Sport was added to this. In the beginning there were small walks that got longer and longer. “After that, we gradually increased the time,” says René. According to Sandra, the two have become much more active and find each other more attractive. It worked: Sandra now weighs 55 kilograms, René 106 – so together they lost 111 kilograms! “From the beginning it was clear to us: we are not following a temporary diet, we will continue like this for the long term. We have found our way and we do not have to do without anything,” says René.
