The Government delegate in Galicia, Javier Losada, is in favor of the Xunta adopting all the measures it deems necessary to stop the outbreaks, even those more restrictive that the Sánchez executive was criticized for, such as the closure of nightlife. Speaking to SER Javier Losada also rejects the Xunta’s criticisms of the first distribution of government funds in health matters. It adjusts, he says, to what, according to Feijóo, the pandemic affected Galicia: “If we take into account what the president of the Xunta said and what his government said that here the pandemic had not affected in a significant way, it means that health expenses had not been as important as in other communities. It is a bit of a contradiction in terms. because they are funds intended for health with objective criteria “
Losada trusts that the tone of the confrontation will be lowered after the celebration of the autonomic elections and that it will return to the path of agreements and consensus. Losada shows all its support for the Xunta and calls on the general population not to relax in complying with safety measures but also with traffic regulations that, after the lifting of the state of soul, have increased accidents: “Yes, there has been a rebound in accidents and a rebound, above all, in increasing speed. Perhaps it is that need that people had to go out and let off steam but obviously you have to remind them again that you have to step on the brakes a bit” .
Politically, Javier Losda attributes the 12-J results to a very sui generis in which the population was not in electoral code: “a very sui generis moment in relation to a position of the citizenry in the face of a pandemic and in the face of a strange situation, there was no voting situation, there has been a large abstention; external factors and possibly also internal factors that we have not explained our position. “
Losada believes that the PSOE in Galicia has remained as in the Basque Country and encourages Galician socialism to turn the page and think about 2024.
