Los Blancos Win 3-1, Close to LaLiga Title


Real Madrid closer to the title LaLiga after winning over health. Even though Karim Benzema’s two penalties failed, Madrid still won 3-1.

Laga Osasuna vs Real Madrid held in El Sadar, Thursday (21/4/2022) early morning WIB. Madrid won thanks to goals from David Alaba, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.

Madrid could have won with a bigger score had it been a penalty Karim Benzema success. Benzema’s two penalties were saved by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.

Thanks to victory over Osasuna, Real Madrid are comfortably at the top La Liga standings with 78 points from 33 games. Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are 17 points ahead of Atletico Madrid who are in second place. Meanwhile, Osasuna is ranked ninth with 44 points.


The course of the match

Real Madrid got a chance in the eighth minute through Rodrygo’s kick from the edge of the penalty box. Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera can still ward off the ball that leads to the bottom left corner of the goal.

Madrid opened the scoring in the 12th minute through David Alaba. Starting from a free kick on the left, Marco Asensio just passed it short to Dani Ceballos who then lifted the ball to Karim Benzema who was at the far post.

Benzema passes to David Alaba who is in front of goal. Alaba grabbed the ball and was blocked by Herrera. But the ball threw up at Alaba and the Madrid defender managed to break into Osasuna’s goal.

Madrid’s advantage did not last long. Osasuna immediately replied through Ante Budimir not long after.

Chimy Avila who moves on the right flakes a pass to the unmarked Budimir at the far post. He without difficulty struck the ball into Madrid’s goal.

Budimir had time to score again in the 33rd minute. However, his goal was disallowed for offside. VAR checked and confirmed the goal was invalid.

Goal! Marco Asensio restored Madrid’s advantage in the 45th minute. He took advantage of the vomit ball from Ceballos’ shot which was blocked by the Osasuna goalkeeper.

Madrid received a penalty in the 51st minute following Avila’s handball. Benzema stepped up as the executor, but his shot which led to the bottom left corner of the goal was parried by Herrera.

Madrid got another penalty in the 58th minute. This time the referee pointed to the spot following Nacho Vidal’s foul on Rodrygo.

Benzema returned to being the executioner even though his first penalty failed. Benzema again aimed his shot to the left and Herrera parried it!

Madrid had the opportunity to increase their advantage in the 87th minute. Carvajal picked up the ball and Isco headed it at the far post. The unguarded Nacho tried to stick his leg out, but his efforts still didn’t hit the mark.

Goal! Madrid sealed the victory through Lucas Vazquez’s goal in the sixth minute of injury time. Vazquez completed a pass from Vinicius to break into Osasuna’s goal.
