LUGANO – Jorge Lorenzo openly talking about his contract that Yamaha no longer extended as a test rider or test racer. He accused two people of being the reason he was kicked out Yamaha.
Yamaha has confirmed that they will no longer use Lorenzo’s services in MotoGP 2021 as a test rider. His role was replaced by Cal Crutchlow starting next season.
That way, Lorenzo only worked for one season as a Yamaha test rider. Yamaha’s decision to replace Lorenzo with Crutchlow himself reportedly occurred because he was not satisfied with Por Fuera’s performance – Lorenzo’s nickname – in the last test.

In the test that was officially held by the MotoGP in Portugal, Lorenzo did look good. He recorded the worst time of the other team test riders.
On this basis, Yamaha also rethinked to extend its cooperation with Lorenzo. Because, the team hopes to have a competitive motorbike next season.
Regarding this condition, Lorenzo stated that there were several people who were the main cause of his contract not being extended by Yamaha. Even so, Lorenzo did not clearly mention the names of the two people he accused.
Of course, Lorenzo said that the two people did not include Lin Jarvis who was a director at the Yamaha team. Although disappointed with the decision, the three times MotoGP champion still tried to accept it.
“I think the decision was made only by a few people,” said Lorenzo, as quoted by Tutto Motori Web, Wednesday (11/25/2020).
And I’m not talking about Lin Jarvis. Two people who have chosen not to renew my contract, a decision which for me is unfair, but in the end I have to respect, “he said.
