Of Lord of the Ringstrilogy by Peter Jackson is coming back to theaters in October. These are the more extensive versions of the fantasy films, distributor Warner Bros. Thursday know.
The Fellowship of the Ring runs from October 8, The Two Towers will follow on October 15 and will be published on October 22 The Return of the King. Ticket sales will start on Friday, September 18.
Jackson’s fantasy films, based on JRR Tolkien’s books, were originally released between 2001 and 2003. The final part of the trilogy won the record eleven Oscars. A year after each cinema release, a more extensive version of the film was released on DVD.
The films originally lasted about three hours per part, but got a lot longer thanks to additional scenes. The first part had a running time of 208 minutes, part two was 223 minutes long and the last film was 262 minutes. It is the first time that these versions appear in the Dutch cinema.
