Look over women photographers in New York

USA – The New York Metropolitan Museum is portraying women photographers from the first half of the 20th century in a new exhibition.

The exhibition with around 180 pictures and objects by more than 120 photographers, which is due to open on Friday, “reevaluates the history of photography,” said the museum’s Austrian director, Max Hollein, during a press preview.

The show is slated to be on view in the Central Park Museum in Manhattan until October 3, and then move on to Washington. It should have been shown there last year, but the corona pandemic messed up the schedule.

The Metropolitan Museum opened an exhibition on the Italian Medici dynasty a few days ago. “We wanted to make sure that when we came out of the pandemic, we had the best and most diverse exhibition program,” said Hollein.
