London lockdown protest: 60 arrests | Abroad

Hundreds of protesters marching through the city near Oxford Street chanted slogans like “freedom” and carried signs saying “stop checking us.”

According to Sky News, violence broke out between protesters and police when agents wanted to disperse the large group. Traffic was stopped on Regent Street while police handcuffed people lying on the road.

In the run-up to the protest, arrests had already been made at King’s Cross station for people not complying with the corona rules. In Hyde Park, people were also taken away with a hand.

London police said the number of arrests could increase over the course of Saturday, the BBC said. The police called on people to go home.
