London and Rome cannot resist good weather: crowds leave home in the midst of the 19-covid pandemic | Photo gallery

The good weather and the reopening of some parks in London, this weekend, took hundreds of people to the streets in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.

Despite warnings to maintain social distance and calls to stay at home, people took advantage of the Easter weekend and the fact that temperatures reached 20ºC in London to leave the house and relax or exercise afterwards. the UK recorded 917 deaths in a single day – including that of an 11 year old child.

The decision to reopen some public parks, such as Victoria Park in London, was decreed by local political authorities, pressured by residents who complained about the lack of outdoor spaces to exercise or stroll. But the decision was not consensual and generated some criticism on social networks.

THE mayor Tower Hamlets (where Victoria Park is located), John Biggs, admitted to the Guardian that the authorities recorded some incidents during the reopening of the park and that some people did not respect the social distance, although defending the decision taken.

The authorities have implemented some measures to ensure that people can move safely, including the two meter spacing between people. People are also prohibited from sitting on the grass or on public benches and from cycling in the park. To ensure that the measures were followed, British police patrolled the parks that opened doors again.

Already in Rome, images released this weekend on social networks and newspapers La Stampa and La Repubblica show kilometers of traffic, with people trying to travel outside the Italian capital. However, newspapers say the queue was formed due to police checkpoints.
