Lombardy will not be yellow – Corriere.it

The yellow corridor from south to north

So, for the Immaculate Conception, here is that thousands of Italians will be able to take the car again after a long time and move from one region to another along an unexpected yellow corridor, which would allow for example to move from Reggio Calabria to reach Venice without the nightmare of patrols and posts block. And even the list could be enriched in the next few hours: even Tuscany, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the autonomous province of Bolzano, in fact, according to rumors could change color: Tuscany would change from red to orange, like Alto Adige, while the Friuli Venezia Giulia would turn yellow again.

From Reggio to Venice without roadblocks

And here it is, therefore, the free corridor that no one could imagine until a few days ago: from Calabria to Basilicata to Puglia and then Molise, Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto up to being able to reach Trieste and Trentino (which has been yellow for some time). Restaurants that reopen (until 6pm), retail shops that start to breathe again, the economy starts again. The signs are good in many parts of Italy: the Deputy Minister of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri, two days ago had met the governor of Basilicata, Vito Bardi, congratulating him on the regional Covid management.

Mass screening in the Marche

Last Friday the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, had heard on the phone with the president of the Marche, Francesco Acquaroli. Even in that case, an encouraging prognosis: the Marche, among other things, are about to follow in the footsteps of South Tyrol with a mass screening project aimed at the population to be carried out in the coming weeks. The situation is different in Puglia, where there are still some worrying outbreaks, so as to push the governor Michele Emiliano to hypothesize new restrictive ordinances, establishing red zones even if the region, on Sunday 6 December, were to turn yellow again. According to the upcoming Dpcm, we remind you that those who live in the Regions in the yellow band will in fact be able to move freely until December 20, when the Christmas stop will be triggered for everyone. For sure, in short, for the next two weeks there will be no restrictions on travel.

The tough government-Val d’Aosta clash

But Lombardy and Piedmont? They too hope to return to yellow, but for the moment they will perhaps be forced to wait in the orange zone, since to switch to a color with fewer restrictions according to the rules established by the government must pass at least 14 days. And Lombardy and Piedmont are orange only from 29 November. Valle d’Aosta is also hoping for a change of color, protagonist for the last hours of a very hard clash with the government, after the Regional Council approved a law that claims the autonomy of the Alpine region in the health management of the coronavirus. the latest act of a tug-of-war that yesterday also recorded a fiery exchange of letters: the Minister of Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, invited the President of the Region Erik Lavevaz to revoke his order to open the retail trade, in derogation from the red zone. But the answer was negative, indeed Lavevaz relaunched with the intention of challenging the order of the Minister of Health Speranza. Boccia, incredulous: The governor’s statements undermine loyal cooperation. In the end, the Minister of Justice, Alfonso Bonafede, also announced an appeal against the regional law just approved. But the war continues.
