Erectile dysfunction or the condition “Mr P is difficult to stand” is one of the problems that are often experienced by many men. According to andrology-urology consultant from the University of Indonesia Hospital, Dr. Widi Atmoko SpU(K), this condition makes a person experience the inability to get or maintain an erection in order to achieve sexual activity.
“Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get or maintain an erection in order to achieve satisfactory sexual activity,” Dr. Widi during a virtual webinar, Wednesday (22/6/2022).
The causes of erectile dysfunction vary, ranging from an unhealthy lifestyle, environmental factors, comorbidities, to the use of drugs.
Talking about drugs, Dr. Widi revealed a number of drugs that could potentially trigger erectile dysfunction, such as:
- Antidepressant drugs
- Antibiotics
- Hypertension medicine
- Anticholinergic drugs
- Latrogenik
“Drugs, for example, taking antidepressant, antihypertensive, anticholinergic drugs, and others,” he said.
Therefore, the use of drugs must be adjusted to a doctor’s prescription and should not be taken carelessly. This is because the side effects not only trigger symptoms such as dizziness or other symptoms, but can also trigger serious diseases or conditions such as erectile dysfunction.
