Logitech Pro X Wireless Lightspeed Gaming Headset – Professional – but not comfortable

We have encountered Logitech’s professional gamer headsets in a number of editions over the years. It is now available in a wireless version with Logitech’s “lossless” Lightspeed interface in the form of a USB-A dongle. In this edition, the name (!) Is the Logitech Pro X Wireless Lightspeed Gaming Headset.

As a professional competition tool, Logitech Pro X Wireless is soberly devoid of embellishments. Everything is black, except for the logo on the earbuds, which is in smoky polished metal. The build quality seems convincing enough for the professional tool they should be. The hoop, which holds the earbuds, is made of metal, and the wires to the earbuds are spiral twisted, so they can be pulled.

Professional details

The volume is controlled with a good old-fashioned screw button, which is easy to find with the thumb. This is how it should be done. A slider on and off, and the detachable gooseneck microphone can be interrupted by pressing another button. The microphone is supplied by Blue Microphones, which has roots in the professional studio world, but which since 2018 has been owned by Logitech.

The Logitech Pro X Wireless sits comfortably on your head – without being directly comfortable. For that, the feeling is a little too stiff and plastic-like.

The Logitech G Hub control software is not absolutely necessary, but if you choose to download and install it, you get access to EQ function and virtual DTS Headphone: X 2.0 7.1 surround sound

Not bold sound

The bass as a whole is decent, but if you prefer to be drowned in bass from explosions, this headset is not the answer. The upper bass lacks direct thrust.

In the important midrange, the resolution is very good. There is no one who sneaks past unnoticed. But the sound is not natural either. The upper treble is slightly subdued. There is no problem at stake, as the main, lower part of the treble has full level.

This is not a headset I would use for music. For that, the sound is too flat and two-dimensional. But for what they are meant for, namely to win in games, it works brilliantly.

Conclusion

Logitech Pro X Wireless is a professional tool without frills and embellishments. The build quality seems solid, and the few controls are well-chosen and clear. The comfort is basic decent, but could have been better at this price. The same can be said about the sound, which is functional but also a bit thin.
