LK elections: Lower Austrian farmers’ association is achieving sensational success

Pernkopf and Nemecek: Brilliant proof of trust for top candidate President Schmuckenschlager

St.Pölten (OTS) The farmers’ association in Lower Austria is beating today’s Chamber of Agriculture elections with a sensational success and an impressively strong result.

“With exactly 85.01 percent of the vote, Lower Austria’s farmers, top candidate Johannes Schmuckenschlager, clearly expressed their full confidence and expressed in today’s LK election that they appreciate the consistent work of the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association in the Chamber of Agriculture,” said Lower Austria Bauernbundobmann Stephan Pernkopf and Director Paul Nemecek on the election result.

At the district level, a total of 663 mandates out of 743 mandates and 86.86 percent belonged to the Lower Austrian Peasants’ Association, 24 mandates to the Freedom Peasants, 17 mandates to the SPÖ farmers, 38 mandates to the UBV and one mandate to an independent list in Korneuburg.

Strong gain in mandates for Lower Austrian farmers’ association

Johannes Schmuckenschlager and his team of candidates were able to further expand the majority of the farmers’ association from a strong result in 2015. Schmuckenschlager can therefore rely on a large majority of 85.01 percent and the backing of 33 mandataries. This corresponds to a gain of 3 mandates in the farmers’ parliament and the historically best result in the general assembly since 1950. This ensures the basis for further successful work for domestic agriculture and forestry in the next five years.

The performance of the Lower Austrian Farmers ‘Association was also confirmed in a comparison across Austria: “With 68,503 votes for the state chamber, we are by far the strongest group of farmers’ states and are also well above the average of the eight other agricultural chambers in Austria of 71.61 percent. We thank our Lower Austrian Voters for this great trust. With 85.01 percent, we also have the strongest result of all interest groups and chambers in the federal and state governments, “said Nemecek.

Together for Lower Austria’s farmers

LH-Stv was particularly pleased with the result. and Lower Austrian Farmer Association chairman Stephan Pernkopf: “The Chamber of Agriculture election has been struck and has impressively demonstrated the importance of the chamber for the Lower Austrian peasantry. This is also the basis for a strong representation for the future and a clear election mandate to continue to give the best for our agriculture and forestry. As a farmers’ association, we look forward to working together for Lower Austria’s farmers. ”

Some. Strong. Connected.

Paul Nemecek has been the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association director since January this year and was also closely involved in the election campaign in his previous role as deputy to the current Federal Minister Klaudia Tanner. Together with his team, he saw the national organization as a hub in the intensive election campaign. He sees the secret of success in three points: “With our 15,000 functionaries and the campaigning members of our community, we were able to carry out this campaign in unison and together with our candidates. We are the representative for rural areas, we are there 365 days a year, while other parties only appear briefly every five years and then quickly submerge. Our strong program will strengthen rural areas and the interests of local farmers in the long term and will not make them a game ball for the political interests of others. With Johannes Schmuckenschlager and his team, we had the best candidates for this choice. Expertise combined with commitment, leadership and flair, all that is needed for a functioning agriculture but also for a top position in politics. Johannes has proven that he combines these qualities. “

Johannes Schmuckenschlager confirmed in office

The work and program of top candidate and LK-Lower Austria President Johannes Schmuckenschlager were more than confirmed with this election result. “This choice was about the future direction of domestic agriculture and forestry. This result confirms the work of the Lower Austrian Farmers’ Association to date and our content on major issues such as the climate crisis, realignment of the GAP and dialogue with society. The farmers can rest assured that we will continue to work hard and consistently for their concerns, ”said Schmuckenschlager, winner of the election. Finally, he addressed the officials and election officials present. “With the election, we have once again demonstrated the strength of the Lower Austrian Peasant Association. Thanks for your support.”

Thanks to Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner

“In view of the enormous challenges faced by the peasantry, the result of the Lower Austria election represents both a mandate and an obligation for us to continue to work consistently for our farming families with great commitment,” said Lower Austria Liaison LH Deputy Stephan Pernkopf and President Johannes Schmuckenschlager thank the State Governor Johann Mikl-Leitner, who was present at the announcement of the election result, for their constant support in questions of agriculture: “Only a peasantry that speaks with one voice can put forward their concerns credibly and also towards others Professional and interest groups will be successfully represented in the next few years, ”concludes Schmuckenschlager.
