Chef Ljubomir Stanisic, one of the faces of the “A Pão e Água” movement and who had been on a hunger strike for six days in front of the parliament, was this Wednesday transported to the Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon.
The information was confirmed to the Lusa agency by José Gouveia, one of the protesters who is also on a hunger strike, who said that Ljubomir had been transported to a hospital unit earlier in the evening. The protester said that the issue was “blood sugar levels”, not only for Ljubomir, but also for the rest of the people who are participating in this protest.
Questioned by Lusa, an INEM source confirmed the team deployed “in a preventive way” to “assess the possible need for psychological care demonstrators” detected “a demonstrator with signs and symptoms that deserved urgent medical evaluation”.
An ambulance and an Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) were mobilized for evaluation, assistance and transport to the hospital unit “, continued the same source, adding that the demonstrator was transported to the Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon. However, the source did not confirm the identity of the person being transported.
The group consists of eight men and a woman and has been on a hunger strike for six days. The group is camped, in improvised facilities with tents and heaters, on a hunger strike until the Government receives them to find solutions for their businesses, which they say are going to ruin.
