The Everton goalkeeper is said to have hired a security company to keep him and his family safe after what happened in the derby against Liverpool.
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been ruled out after the Merseyside derby where he came out and tackled Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk after a corner.
The tackle was brutal and after the match it became clear that the Dutchman had broken the cruciate ligament and that he is probably out for the rest of the season.
In the wake of the episode, Pickford has been subjected to a lot of incitement and threats. A while ago, it became known, among other things, that the police were involved, due to threatening messages.

Wednesday writes the Daily Mail that the English national team goalkeeper and his family have now had to get bodyguards, after several death threats.
The guards look after the Everton goalkeeper’s million-dollar villa in Liverpool, where Pickford lives with his wife Meghan and their one-year-old son.
Security experts have also advised the family to stay away from all social media, writes the Daily Mail further.

The newspaper claims that the goalkeeper has made sure to have a “steel ring” of guards around him and his family at all times, because he is afraid that there will be an attack from Liverpool supporters.
– Jordan is shocked by all the incitement he has experienced after this. He should be prepared to do everything to keep the family safe, says a source to the newspaper.

The police on Merseyside have in the last two weeks looked more closely at threats and incitement that Pickford has received on social media as a result of the incident with van Dijk.

Also teammate Richarlison, who received a red card in the same match after a headless tackle on Thiago Alcantara, is said to have received incitement and threats.
