Schiedam will close the Maasboulevard to all public from Thursday evening. According to the municipality, it was often very busy there in the late evening and night. To prevent the spread of the corona virus, Mayor Cor Lamers has issued an emergency bye-law and decided to designate Maasboulevard as a prohibited area from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

It is not known how long the measure will remain in force. During the day the Maasboulevard is accessible, but every evening access is closed with gates. Homes along the Maasboulevard will remain accessible and the Jachthavenlaan will remain open, so that the companies and marinas located there are also accessible.
