LIVE | RIVM: again less than 500 infections | Inland

Between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, 489 Dutch people were tested positive for the corona virus. It is the second day in a row that the number remains below 500. Exactly a week ago, almost 800 new infections were added in 24 hours. 4013 new infections have been reported in the past seven days, slightly less than in the previous week.

About half of all positively tested people are 20 to 40 years old. This group is less likely to end up in hospital, but can pass on the virus. About a quarter of new cases are 40 to 60 years old. That corresponds to previous days.

Region

132 people were tested positive in the Amsterdam-Amstelland region, including 121 in Amsterdam itself. Rotterdam-Rijnmond registered less than a hundred new cases for the third day in a row. In and around the Maasstad, 79 new infections were registered between Monday morning and Tuesday morning. This included 58 cases in the municipality of Rotterdam.

The Haaglanden region reported 61 new infections, 34 people were tested positive in Central and West Brabant and 23 in Utrecht.

In the municipality of Bergen op Zoom, no one has tested positive in the past 24 hours. This is the first time in three weeks. In the Frisian municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân, which includes Dokkum, four new infections came to light.
