LIVE | Hong Kong residents receive more than 500 euros with a positive corona test | Inland

The Hong Kong government will make a one-off payment of 5,000 Hong Kong dollars (544 euros) to residents who are tested positive for the corona virus. This should encourage urban residents to have themselves tested, explains the Ministry of Health in the metropolis.

The allowance is also an allowance for people who are concerned about their income if they are found to be infected. The details of the scheme will be announced later.

Hong Kong has recently been confronted with an increase in the number of corona infections, which is reason to curtail social traffic. Plans for more travel options between Hong Kong and Singapore have been postponed for two weeks.

Massive testing campaigns are key to curb the transmission of the virus, according to the administration of the city of 7.5 million residents. In addition to the four existing five new test centers will be opened.
