LIVE | Czech corona deaths doubled in three weeks | Inland

The number of deaths in the Czech Republic from the coronavirus doubled in November, crossing the 7,000 mark, the Ministry of Health reports Saturday.

According to the figures, the number of deaths recorded on Saturday was 7,021, compared to the 3,523 reported at the end of October.

The country has seen the number of new corona infections and hospital patients decrease in recent weeks, allowing the government to ease corona measures somewhat.

The Ministry of Health reported 5,809 new infections on Friday, less than half of the peak numbers around the months of October and November.

The number of hospital admissions fell to 6,307, from a peak of 8,283 on November 6.

The number of daily corona infections in Germany has decreased slightly over the past 24 hours. The number of confirmed cases rose by 22,964 to 902,528, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases reported Saturday.

On Friday, the institute reported 23,648 new confirmed cases. 22,609 cases were reported on Thursday. On Wednesday, 17,561 new cases were reported, Tuesday 14,419 and Monday it was 10,824 new infections.

The reported German death toll rose 254 to 13,884 on Saturday. That too is slightly lower than the day before when there were 260 deaths from Covid-19.
