WHAT THERE IS TO KNOW
– The toll increased further this Friday morning, with 26 dead, 830 confirmed cases of contamination and more than a thousand suspected cases. Of these 830 patients, 177 cases are considered serious by the China Health Commission.
– The World Health Organization (WHO) yesterday recognized “the emergency in China” but considered that it was premature to speak of “public health emergency of international scope”.
– Several Chinese cities have taken quarantine measures, including that of Wuhan, where the virus was detected, but also Huanggang, Ezhou and Xianning.
– Cases of contamination have been noted in Asia (Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam), but also in the United States.
– “There are no doubtful cases in France,” assured Agnès Buzyn on Thursday. The Minister of Health has announced the introduction of a rapid diagnostic test in hospitals by next week.
