CHLOROQUIN
According to a study, noted by the Associated Press, chloroquine would have “no benefit” for the treatment of coronaviurs. Realized thanks to subsidies from the National Institute of Health, it even concludes that there are more deaths among the patients who took the treatment (28%) than the others (11%).
If this study “is not rigorous”, it is, with 368 patients, the largest of its kind. The preliminary study has not yet been evaluated by the reading committee of a medical journal.
However, this conclusion can be misleading because the group of patients who received only hydroxychloroquine was initially sicker and more at risk than the other two groups: it contained more smokers and people with diabetes or cardiovascular and pulmonary history.
