LIVE – Chinese coronavirus: ‘too early’ to declare an international emergency, says WHO

Here is the list of countries that have reported cases of illness due to
SARS-like coronavirus since its spread from Wuhan, in the
east-central China, where it first appeared in December.

Saudi Arabia
Indian nurse working in Saudi Arabia tested
positive for Chinese coronavirus and hospitalized in this country, announced on 23
January authorities in New Delhi.

South Korea
The first case in South Korea is that of a 35-year-old Chinese woman
arrived on January 19 in Seoul by plane from Wuhan.

United States
A man in his thirties who stayed in the region of
Wuhan was hospitalized in Everett, not far from Seattle (west coast), where he was
arrived on January 15, authorities announced on January 21. He had contacted
health services on January 19, after the onset of
symptoms.

Japan
The first case in Japan is that of a thirty-something who must have been
hospitalized on January 10 for high fever and other symptoms. It was
returned a few days earlier from a stay in Wuhan.

Singapore
Singapore announced on January 23 the first case of coronavirus, a
66-year-old man from Wuhan arrived three days earlier with a fever and
coughing.

Taiwan
The first case recorded in Taiwan is that of a woman of
fifties arrived on January 20 from Wuhan, where she
lives, feverish, coughing and sore throat at the airport
from Taoyuan of the capital Taipei.

Thailand

The first case of contamination outside of China was
identified in Thailand on January 8: a woman returning from a trip
in Wuhan. Then a 74-year-old Chinese traveler with pneumonia
linked to coronavirus was hospitalized after arriving January 13 in Bangkok
also from Wuhan.

Vietnam
Two Chinese men arrived on January 13 from Wuhan
and her son living in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam, were
hospitalized, respectively on January 17 and 18, on Vietnamese territory
after being tested positive for coronavirus, announced on January 23
authorities.
