MOSCOW, Sept. 6 – RIA Novosti. Foreign Secretary Lithuania Linas Linkevičius in an interview Financial Times said that European Union “undermines” its foreign policy authority due to inaction in relation to Belarus. He called on the EU countries to help the Belarusian opposition more “substantively and tangibly”. The diplomat also promised Minsk closer cooperation with the countries of the union, if the authorities carry out a series of reforms. Earlier, Linkevicius said that the government of Lithuania had approved a plan of assistance to residents of Belarus, which includes assistance in finding jobs for Belarusians in the country and assistance in obtaining visas. Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, stated that Vilnius must deal with their own problems, and not the problems of those neighbors who “treated her well and to a certain extent continue to feed her.”
