Linda Reynolds has filed a Federal Court application seeking to bankrupt Brittany Higgins‘ husband, David Sharaz, over an unpaid debt. The move comes after Sharaz failed to comply with court orders to pay Reynolds’ legal costs stemming from a defamation case brought by Higgins.
The dispute centers around costs awarded to Reynolds following Higgins’ dropped defamation suit against the senator. Sharaz personally guaranteed a notable portion of Higgins’ legal bills, and after a judgment was made against Higgins, Reynolds pursued Sharaz for the outstanding amount – reportedly exceeding $115,000. SharazS failure to pay has now led to the bankruptcy application.
Ms Higgins and Mr Sharaz reportedly recently sold their chateau in France for an estimated $700,000, and Ms Higgins received a $2.4 million settlement from the federal Government over claims related to the case.Mr Lehrmann‘s 2022 rape trial was aborted due to juror misconduct,the charge was then dropped and he continues to maintain his innocence.
