[Reporter Wu Junfeng/Tainan Report]Liao Jinxiang, president of the Chi Mei group, died yesterday of an illness at the age of 85; he was the brother-in-law of Xu Wenlong, the founder of the group, and the father-in-law of Lin Jialong, a candidate for the New Taipei Mayor, Democratic Progressive Party, disappointed after leaving.
The Chi Mei Group’s official website announced today that President Liao Jinxiang passed away on September 25 of an illness at the age of 85; the group and all colleagues are saddened and saddened by the passing of President Liao and will fully assist the family in dealing with related matters.

The statement on the official website also mentioned that Liao Jinxiang joined the Chi Mei industry in 1962 and served in the Chi Mei group for 60 years.The field has made an outstanding contribution.
The statement pointed out that Chi Mei Group Corporation has perfected its corporate governance system and the operations of each company will not be affected in any way; Liao Jinxiang’s family will follow the president’s last wish to look after the funeral in a simple way.
Liao Jinxiang took over as president of Chi Mei industry after Xu Wenlong’s retirement, until he handed over the baton in 2012. In recent years, he has only appeared on public assistance occasions.
Liao Jinxiang is younger than Xu Wenlong. He joined the company when he was young and started from the lowest level of warehouse management. The two are tied by marriage and work together in the workplace. They are the “best partners” in the career; Due to the emphasis on employee well-being and equity, Chi Mei Industries is also known as Happiness Enterprise.
Liao Jinxiang took over the presidency of Chi Mei from Xu Wenlong in 2004 and handed it over to Xu Chunhua, Xu Wenlong’s cousin, in 2012.
After Liao Jinxiang stepped down as president of the Chi Mei Museum Foundation in 2020, he rarely appeared in public. Recently, it was reported that he was hospitalized due to health problems. Today, the family has instructed Chi Mei Industry to announce the news of his death.
