The director of the Chamois Niortais, Mikaël Hanouna, and the mayor of Niort, Jérôme Baloge, oppose in the media around the future of the football club.

The club leader complained to journalists that he had not received the annual grant of 200,000 euros, supposedly dedicated to the sports association Chamois Niortais FC. Only a deposit of 60,000 euros has so far been disbursed by the municipality.
Mikaël Hanouna assured that, if the expected subsidy was not paid to him quickly, the club would be forced to proceed with a social plan and the closure of the training center.
In addition, the general manager of the Chamois assured that the René-Gaillard stadium will “lose registration by April 30”. Statements brushed aside by the mayor of Niort: “The work should start this week. The René-Gaillard stadium is a stadium made for Ligue 2, and it remains so. I don’t want to add more.”
