Lights up in solidarity with the victims in Oslo

The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is lit up on Sunday night in the colors of the rainbow, after the mass shooting in Oslo on Saturday night.

“Our condolences go out to the people of Oslo who fell victim to a homophobic and homophobic terrorist attack,” said Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey (SPD), according to the local broadcaster. RBB24.

The mayor says that as the rainbow capital, Berlin stands side by side with the inhabitants of Oslo and all of Norway, who are in mourning.

“We will always fight for freedom and stand up against enemies of democracy and our values,” Giffey said.

The Brandenburg Gate is lit in rainbow colors from 10pm on Sunday night.

Germany’s largest queer organization tweets that a silent memorial service be held in front of the monument at 9.30 pm on Sunday and encourages a large attendance.

Two people were killed and 14 were shot in what police are investigating as a terrorist attack, Saturday night.

The incident led to PST raising the level of terrorist threats from moderate to extraordinary, and the police recommended canceling large Pride celebrations.
