Lidl offers cars in Germany. So far only one model and exclusively black

The Lidl retail chain returns to the idea of selling cars to its customers. He first tried something similar two years ago. Then there was the Fiat 500 on offer, now it is the Kiu Stonic.

With a similar philosophy to that of Hendy Ford in the case of its T-Model, the Lidl retail chain is now selling passenger cars in Germany.

The customer can therefore order the leasing of the Kia Stonic model in black via its website or via the mobile application. He cannot choose either the engine or the level of equipment.

You can see the car with all the details in our photo gallery.

It is always a version powered by a liter three-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 100 horsepower, which works with a five-speed manual transmission. But the equipment is very solid. It includes, for example, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, a leather multifunction steering wheel, rear parking sensors and a radio with a 7-inch touch screen.

However, the price is very favorable. When concluding a four-year leasing contract, the monthly payment for a car worth EUR 20,930 is only EUR 135 (CZK 3,535). This is approximately five hundred crowns less than what Škoda requires in the Czech Republic within its Škoda program without worries for a five-year lease of its cheapest Fabia model. For a car of a similar nature (Škoda Kamiq), the Czech customer must pay at least CZK 5,649 per month. However, insurance with a 10% co-participation is already included in the Škoda prices.

Those interested in the Kiu Stonic “from Lidl” only have to make sure that the annual raid does not exceed 10,000 kilometers. If you want, you can pay extra for solid prices Maintenance and wear and tear packages (20.80 euros per month) or for insurance (77.02 euros).

Also Renaulty Twingo and Clio

For cars that will wait 6-8 weeks after signing the contract, customers will not go to Lidl’s “stone” stores, they will pick them up at designated branches of Sixt Leasing. It was with this established car rental company as well as with the leasing company Vehiculum that Lidl teamed up as part of this project. For a fee, however, it is possible to bring the car directly to the address provided by the customer.

Lidl will offer two more types of passenger cars to choose from in the near future. In addition, the Renault Twingo will be available under similar conditions for only 99 euros per month, and the Renault Clio will come to 109 euros.

Lidl already offered cars to customers two years ago. At that time it was a Fiat 500.

For the time being, the project remains limited exclusively to Germany. “We will not introduce anything similar in the Czech Republic now or in the near future,” said Tomáš Myler, spokesman for the Czech branch, when asked by Deník and Automix.cz.
