Libero shows the cards that the Prime Minister enters – Libero Quotidiano

«I didn’t demand a medal, it was my job what the Italians asked me, I didn’t expect even two trials, if you want to come and keep me company on October 3 I’ll be in court in Catania, I’m not used to going there as a criminal, but I’m going there with head held high, but surely some government officials will come to keep me company. I risk 15 years in prison for enforcing the law and the borders of my country and it is clear that it is a political process, but since we took all the choices together then we will all go. ” The words of Matteo Salvini pronounced at Rtl 102.5 promise spectacle.

We will see some good ones at the trial. Above all we will see the bar, perhaps as a witness called by the defense, Giuseppe Conte, Elisabetta Trenta (former Minister of Defense) and Danilo Toninelli (former Minister of Infrastructure, at the helm of the Coast Guard). The “captain” will be judged, by decision of the Senate with a yellow and red majority, for the Gregoretti and Open Arms affairs. In both cases, the former head of the Interior Ministry is accused of kidnapping. His fault? Having kept hundreds of migrants on board without disembarking them. Yet there was a rule, the famous security decree transformed into law with the votes of the grillini, which allowed the secretary of the Carroccio to be able to prevent illegal immigrants from landing on Italian territory. Where was the premier, who has been the same since 2018, when they conceived such measures that allowed the ban on disembarking? Was he at Palazzo Chigi or was he a tourist?

In reality, acts in hand, the head of government will have to answer as Salvini for the crimes alleged against him. Let’s see why. On February 12, the Senate voted to bring the former Interior Minister to trial. It should be noted that on the Diciotti case, identical to that of Gregoretti, Palazzo Madama saved Matteo. This alone makes it clear that the senators speak only for political reasons. What then is a problem, because now it has fallen to a League – therefore an outcast for the left – but tomorrow, the day after tomorrow it could be up to every minister of the Republic, who will see himself limited in his functions, approved by the people.

Let’s go back to the story. In July 2019, the Gregoretti crew rescues 116 people at sea but, as had happened at Diciotti, they are not given the opportunity to dock and therefore remain for days outside the port of Augusta. However, minors and a passenger with suspected tuberculosis are dropped. Then on 31 July the “Permanent Representation to the EU” let it be known that, at the request of the Prime Minister (therefore Conte), some European countries are willing to welcome migrants. A few hours later, the landing of the 115 was decided on board the Gregoretti, a Coast Guard boat. Therefore Palazzo Chigi was fully responsible. Not just Salvini.

On August 1, again in 2019, an NGO ship, the Spanish Open Arms, in several operations takes hundreds of immigrants on board and calls the Italian authorities, although still in international waters. The same day is issued by the Ministry of the Interior, in concert with that of Defense and Transport, informing the Presidency of the Council, the ban on entry, transit and stop in the Italian sea of the boat, by virtue of the safety decrees (voted by the majority yellow-green and approved by the premier). The captain of the medium instead of proceeding to Spain or Malta, focuses on Italy. Open Arms lawyers appeal to the Lazio Regional Administrative Court against the ban. The judges welcome him partially. C

dare the migrants approach Lampedusa. Thirteen are sent down for health reasons although, at a first visit, all this emergency does not emerge (only one has otitis as declared by the head of the Polyclinic of Lampedusa, Francesco Cascio). Others go ashore: 27 alleged minors. Presumed because eight of them, just landed, declare themselves of age. So little more than a hundred illegal immigrants remain on board. The left fears for the health of the guests, then the maritime health doctor comes on board with the men of the mobile team and the coastguard, on input from the assistant prosecutor of Agrigento, Salvatore Vella. Result: zero “important particular pathologies” from the sanitary point of view, even if they are “very tired and tried by the long stay on the boat”.

On 19 August, despite the fact that the yellow-green government was now dead, Salvini, Trenta, Toninelli and Conte again oppose the Tar, almost asking that the Open Arms go to Spain, which would now be ready to welcome … Nothing, the day after the prosecutor of Agrigento seizes the ship and drops everyone. However, only Salvini goes to trial, but some witnesses will come out as defendants before the judge. The acts and dates speak for themselves.
