The sliding mechanism is perpendicular, so that once the first screen is positioned at 90 ° relative to the second, the whole forms a cross. The Wing should therefore offer new uses and a unique perspective for streaming, for example. It remains to be seen whether, in practice, this originality will be a real added value or a constraint.
The Wing Phone is the first offspring of the “Explorer Project” launched this year by LG. The latter is, for the South Korean firm, a means “To offer much needed curiosity and enthusiasm in the smartphone sector. “ The products of this new range “Will only focus on discovering new uses through innovative designs. “ A few weeks ago premiers « leaks » had already given an overview of the possibilities offered by the Wing, in particular in its presentation of information in GPS mode. The firm therefore affirms its desire to differentiate itself from the rest of the market but nevertheless does not intend to risk everything for everything. LG specifies that its Explorer Project will develop in parallel with its range of standard smartphones, the Universal Line, dominated by conventional devices such as the recent Velvet.
