LG and ZTE cancel for MWC grant due to coronavirus – Tablets and phones – News

Panic or not, prevention is better than cure

What about road deaths?
What about fire safety?
What about smokers?
What about alcohol?
What about (flu) vaccination?
What about too loud music?
What about drugs?
What about birth control for people who cannot take care of themselves?
Yes, whataboutism. But my point is that we must be critical and deploy our resources where they are most needed. And provided that I am almost certain that all the above points cause more deaths (excluding loud music, luckily …) than the corona virus does now, a little critical thinking may be appropriate. But nobody has a glass ball, and therefore some caution applies. But whether this news article is in proportion to ‘some caution’ … Mh …

Corona is currently a relatively harmless but unknown virus.

“At the moment, the corona virus is still contagious and relatively deadly. It of course depends on what you compare it to. Flu kills 250,000 to 500,000 people every year (compared to 362 deaths from the corona virus currently, ed.).

The risk is that we do not yet have a vaccine for it, but the success of our own flu vaccine is only moderate, but it is still useful. The chance that this virus becomes a major culprit is very small. The chance that you get the normal flu virus is much greater, the chance that you pass on the normal flu virus to a weak person in our environment (eg your grandmother) is much greater. The chance that your grandmother dies from that virus is much greater.
And how many people have their vaccinations for the flu? Yes … Environments such as a hospital are struggling to have> 50% of their staff vaccinated, let alone what ordinary people do in the street.
Conclusion: yes, this is blind panic. If this were not the case, every exhibitor or visitor would now go and get his flu vaccine, wash his hands neatly after urinating, always sneeze in a paper handkerchief or in his elbow, but certainly not in his hand. And do we do that? No. Do thousands of people die there every year? Yes. So are there any greater risks today than the corona virus? Hell yes. But this virus is new and unknown, and therefore gets a lot of attention, with the accompanying shock reactions from the population as a result.
