Many carmakers have informed us in recent months that it intends to become a purely electric brand by that year, ie that from that date it will only offer customers electric cars. But it would probably occur to few people that Lexus, which together with its parent Toyota is synonymous with hybrid drive, would be included.

Akio Toyoda has confirmed that Lexus will offer an electric car in all segments in 2030. At the same time, it will become a purely electric brand in the same year, at least in the markets of Europe, North America and China. But even in other world markets, Lexus cars with internal combustion engines will not have a bed. The Japanese announce their complete end in 2030.

Lexus currently offers the UX 300e electric crossover, which is a battery-powered offshoot of the internal combustion engine model. In 2022, the brand will introduce the first independent electric car – crossover RZ, which will receive the e-TNGA platform, ie the same technical basis as the twins Toyota bZ4x and Subaru Solterra. A number of other electric cars are to follow – SUVs, sedans, but above all the supersport and spiritual successor of the Lexus LFA.
