Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva Are Just Barcelona Illusions!

Jakarta

Former member of the Barcelona board of directors, Toni Freixa, not sure the Catalan giant can bring Robert LewandowskiRaphinha, Jules Kounde, ataupun Bernard Silva. According to him, it was just an illusion.

Barcelona, who has a debt of more than one billion euros, is now being seriously monitored by LaLiga. The Spanish League operator only allows the Blaugrana to spend a third of the income earned from selling players.

This makes Barcelona’s movements in the transfer market falter. Of the many targeted names, not one has been successfully brought in. At most only a verbal agreement with the player, but not with the club owner.

The disbursement of 280 million euros from Spotify as a sponsor does not necessarily make them free to find star players, because the money is given regularly.

Now another way is being taken, namely trying to sell 25 percent of TV broadcasting rights and 49.9 percent of the shares of the Barca Licensing and Merchandising (BLM) company which is responsible for the entity’s business and club merchandising licenses.

The two activities are believed to be able to earn up to 600 million Euros. But until the official sale is reached, then the money in Barcelona’s treasury is not much. Therefore, Freixa who works as a lawyer doubts that the big names above will come to Camp Nou.

“You know that Lewandowski, Koundé, Raphinha or Bernardo Silva won’t come? You know that, right?” tweeted Freixa on his Twitter account on June 21, 2022.

The 53-year-old then explained his tweet in more detail when interviewed by Cadena COPE radio, as quoted by Marca.

“I do not believe in the movement of the Barcelona transfer. It is an illusion made to look real. I have no choice but to warn people out there that (the purchase) will not happen,” said Freixa.

“One player may come, as long as one other player is sold.”

“Now they say they will bring in Bernardo Silva. Go ahead if you want to believe it, I don’t,” explained the man who once ran for president of Barcelona.
