This was confirmed by Levita’s adviser Aiva Rozenberga, referring to the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers. At the same time, she pointed out that if there are changes in the President’s agenda for next week, the Office of the President will inform about them at the beginning of the week.

The visit to Germany was announced on Thursday, while the data of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) on the list of new countries to be self-isolated after the visit were announced only today, Rosenberg explained. The President will continue the current approach of caution, said Levita’s adviser.

It is planned that only a few people will accompany Levit on the visit.

The President is scheduled to pay a working visit to Germany on 27 and 28 August, during which a meeting with the President is planned Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to discuss the situation in Belarus, Latvian-German relations and other current issues. Levita’s participation in other work events is also planned.

In accordance with the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers on epidemiological security measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection, the self-isolation requirements also do not apply to holders of diplomatic passports of the Republic of Latvia and their accompanying technical staff performing official functions.

As reported, from August 22, the two-week self-isolation in Latvia will have to be observed even after entering the country from Germany and Liechtenstein, according to the information disseminated by the SPKC.
