Letter to the editor “My opinion” – On the CDU “Traffic revolution -” Revolution, what a word for a conservative party

Baden-Baden, December 7th, 2020, letter to the editor In a letter to the editor to the editor goodnews4– Reader Konrad Ernst’s position on the goodnews4– Report CDU wants “traffic revolution” in Baden-Baden – “Sub-tunneling” B500 from Cité to Michaelstunnel – chance for rebirth Fürstenbergallee – Ansgar Gernsbeck in the goodnews4 VIDEO interview.

“Revolution”, what a word for a conservative party. In the traffic! The B500 underground from the Europakreisel to Verfassungsplatz. And all problems in Baden-Baden have been solved. Maybe in 30 years. At today’s costs of well over 500 million euros and more than twice as much – see Stuttgart 21 – in 30 years. We “simply” disregard the construction period with all its burdens.

What a “grandiose” distraction from what has to be done in Baden-Baden over the next decade:
– Rehabilitation of roads, bridges, sewers, power lines
– Designation of residential areas at affordable land prices
– Construction of rental apartments
– Refurbishment and equipping of schools
– Expansion of the digital infrastructure
– Investments in the Festspielhaus
– Preservation of the races in Iffezheim

The list is not exhaustive.

But how can all this be mapped in the city budget over the next 10 years, the CDU parliamentary group and those who jump on this “vision” have to be asked. Spending 300,000 euros on planning such “visions” is a waste of taxpayers’ money. Citizens will ask for answers.

How could 500 million euros plus price increases be accommodated in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan for 2030 to 2045, which is already widely translated today, in the times that followed Corona? That is the question for Whittaker, Member of the Bundestag.

How he really assesses the financial future in Germany, the member of the Bundestag and “spiritus rector” of the “Revolution” Kai Whittaker recently demonstrated in “Phoenix – Unter den Linden”: It is urgent to start saving on corona spending and for the years after that, considerable austerity measures are necessary to return to the “black zero” of the federal budget. When asked by the moderator where to save money, the MP was silent.

The “visions” of the “revolution” are only designed to distract citizens from the real problems; they are a gross deception and are probably due to the election year 2021. No party should afford this type of revolution, especially not if it wants to be conservative in the good sense of the word. Erwin Teufel: “Politics begins with looking at reality”.

The main topic of our time and for the future of our children is climate change with the avoidance of CO² and the use of renewable energies – including wind turbines. When it comes to this question of survival, the CDU sits in the brakeman’s shed from the municipality across the country to the federal government. And we can’t afford that twice today.
