Indonesian men’s doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin qualify for the semifinals Indonesia Masters 2023 after defeating Keiichiro Matsui/Yoshinori Takeuchi from Japan at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (27/1).
Leo/Daniel appeared extraordinary against Keiichiro/Yoshinori. Leo/Daniel showed a dominant appearance throughout the two games to win 21-13 and 21-11.
In the first game Leo/Daniel were never left behind. Keiichiro/Yoshinori were only able to come close once at 1-2, after that Leo/Daniel did not let the Japanese pair develop their game.
After winning 11-6 at the interval, Leo/Daniel was able to gain the furthest lead up to 17-9. Aggressive and intelligent play was the key to Leo/Daniel’s 21-13 victory in the first game.
Leo/Daniel showed dominance in the game again in the second game. Keiichiro/Yoshinori trailed up to 5-11 during the interval. Slowly but surely Leo/Daniel maintained their lead until 17-11 before winning 21-11 in the second game.
This success has made Leo/Daniel’s impressive play at the 2023 Indonesia Masters continue. In the previous round, Leo/Daniel defeated Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.
In the semifinals of the Indonesia Masters 2023 Leo/Daniel will face He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong who surprisingly defeated fourth seeds from Malaysia Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik 21-17, 21-10.
Until now, there have been two Indonesian representatives who have confirmed their passage to the semifinals of the Indonesia Masters 2023. Previously, Jonatan Christie also stepped into the semifinals after defeating Lakshya Sen.
