On this Friday, the autumn holidays begin in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. In compliance with the current hygiene and behavioral regulations, those looking for relaxation can start their vacation from Dresden and Leipzig / Halle airports to national and international destinations. Central German airports have taken extensive health protection precautions so that passengers can take their flight relaxed and carefree.

The autumn goals
At Leipzig / Halle Airport, a total of 27 departures are on the display board on the first holiday weekend. Most of the vacation planes start to Antalya (8). A total of 16 holiday flights take off to the Greek islands of Heraklion (7), Rhodes (5), Corfu (2) and Kos (2). There are also machines to Lamezia Terme (1) in Italy and Vienna (2). At the Austrian hub, passengers have connections to many other destinations. *

26 departures are planned for the first holiday weekend at Dresden Airport. The Greek islands of Heraklion (2), Rhodes (2) and Kos (1) are very popular with a total of five starts. Antalya (2), London (1), Palma de Mallorca (1), Düsseldorf (2) and Stuttgart (1) complete the offer. In addition, the hubs Amsterdam (3), Frankfurt (6) and Munich (5) are served. From there, passengers can reach other cities and sunny destinations with just one change. *

At the two central German airports, inexpensive parking spaces are available from 15 euros / week. These can be booked online in advance, according to the airport.

Travel advice and protective measures
The Free State of Saxony has set up corona test centers at both airports in cooperation with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Saxony (KVS). The premises are located in the terminals in the public area. According to KVS, the test centers are open daily from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

According to the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion, travelers from risk areas are obliged to take a corona test. Anyone who has been in a risk area in the last 14 days can be tested free of charge within ten days of entry.

An immediate change at an airport in the risk area does not count as a stay in this area.

Central German airports have also taken extensive precautions to protect the health of passengers, visitors, partners and employees. Mouth and nose protection must be worn in the terminals.
Other precautions include separating discs at the check-in counters and at the boarding pass controls as well as disinfectant dispensers in the terminals. Via monitors, signs, announcements and markings, passengers are continuously informed about the rules of conduct and hygiene. Hygiene machines with disposable masks are available at the terminal entrances.

You are also required to cover your mouth and nose on the plane.
Passengers should contact their airline in advance to find out the exact regulations.

Airport tours
Even in the autumn holidays, airport fans big and small can take a look behind the scenes and learn interesting facts about the airport on an exciting tour. Registration is essential at both airports.
