The dream of a Czech cottager from the hands of an Italian builder
After the traditional December break, the Lego Group supplied us with new construction sets for adults throughout January. Probably the most interesting is already the 46th representative of the popular Ideas series – 21338 Cottage “A”.
In the package, you will find a cottage with an A-shaped construction. It is a two-story building with a steeply pitched roof that reaches almost to the ground. 24 cm high, 21 cm wide and 22 cm deep. In Denmark, they didn’t skimp on the animal life that belongs to the camping in nature. In the box we find 2 moths, 2 butterflies, 2 frogs, 2 birds, an otter, a spider and a squirrel.
If you know original model, you must have noticed that it is fundamentally different from the final one. While Andrea Lattanzio has created a cottage that already remembers some decades and leaks in places, after passing through the design department in Billund, it has become quite a well-kept structure. Even the trees seem to be trimmed.
I personally prefer the original style, but I can’t be too critical of the result either. I still feel that well-being from him somewhere by the water far from everyone and everything.
American racer from a Czech designer
When I first noticed whispers about an upcoming car with a blue oval in the emblem, which should fit into the Technic range, I immediately took notice. I was looking forward to the continuation of the 1:8 scale models. But then I realized that we only recently welcomed a set 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 and it’s still early for a new big sports car. The first pictures confirmed my fears and now we know that the new product with the name 42154 2022 Ford GT from the only Czech Lego designer Milan Reindla it is rather a successor to medium-sized models.
The car is not only nice to look at, but also has a lot of realistic technical details – rear drive with differential, V6 engine, independent shock absorbers on all wheels, front axle steering, opening doors and hood or a functional rear spoiler. The dimensions of the assembled model are a solid 39 centimeters in length, 18 centimeters in width and 9 centimeters in height.
The Botanical series is expanding with two sets
With the first new kit, the manufacturer follows up on its first attempt at rendering flowers, set 10280 Bouquet. This time, however, he replaced the cut flowers with meadow ones. The second set goes in an unexplored direction, replacing live flowers with dried ones. For the sake of completeness, I will add that the new kits have names 10313 A bouquet of meadow flowersrespectively 10314 Decoration from dried flowers. The Botanical series, which is a sub-theme of the Icons series, now includes already 8 sets.
