It’s been a bad season for Arsenal, but two of their bright lights, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, combined tonight to remind Gunners fans that at least some positives have emerged from this campaign.
Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1 at Emirates Stadium to advance ninth in the Premier League table and relegate the Baggies to relegation to the Championship.
Smith Rowe set the score in motion, showing off his brilliant technique by scoring a volley from Saka’s brilliant cross.
The Gunners duo came straight from the academy and their form this season has been a brilliant part of an otherwise dismal year under Mikel Arteta, whose team was knocked out of the Europa League in the semi-final stage on Thursday.

Smith Rowe has been a ubiquitous figure in Arsenal’s first eleven since the turn of the year and suffice it to say that fans of the North London club are huge fans of the 20-year-old.
He also has a fan in the form of former club defender Lee Dixon, who revealed that his son, Joshua, a strength and conditioning coach who has worked in the England setup, has given him glowing reviews of Smith Rowe.
He told NBC Sport: “It has been a bright light this season. He is a player. My son knows him through the England setting. A really humble boy, he wants to win, he wants to learn, he is hungry «.
This was Smith Rowe’s first Premier League goal for North Londoners, but following his form in recent months, there will be many more in the years to come.
