Lech Poznań strengthened the squad. Bohdan Butko returns to “Kolejorz”

Bohdan Butko is the footballer of Lech Poznań again. The Ukrainian representative is expected to appear in it until the end of this year.

The 29-year-old joined Lech in February this year. He was borrowed from Shakhtar Donetsk to fill a hole on the right side of the defensive. At that time, “Kolejorz” could not count on the injured Robert Gumny, and Alan Czerwiński was still a player of Zagłębie Lubin.

Butko played twelve matches in Lech. He presented himself solidly, but returned to Donetsk after the end of the season. Initially, it was considered too expensive to anchor in Poznań for longer.

“Kolejorz” decided to bring him back – after Gumny left Augsburg, he has only one classic right-back. Czerwiński, however, will need a rest, because the team from Poznań is going to experience a lot of matches soon.

– Bohdan gave us the expected quality and was undoubtedly a huge boost for us in the spring round. So, when we had the chance to bring him back again, we didn’t hesitate at all. A lot of matches await us in the near future. Excluding the Sunday match in Gliwice against Piast, we will play as many as 16 matches after the national break from October 17 to December 20 – explains Tomasz Rząsa, sports director of the club in Poznań.

Butko will be the third Ukrainian in Lech’s team. Apart from him, there are other defenders – Vasyl Kraweć and Volodymir Kostewycz. The latter, however, has little chance of playing.

The new-old Lech footballer will not be available to Dariusz Żuraw for Sunday’s match with Piast Gliwice. He will start training in Poznań next week.
