Leaving Sogndal – ready for Rikard Norling’s club: – It’s overwhelming

  • This year’s season in the Eliteserien and the OBOS league is on discovery+

Eid came to Sogndal before the 2020 season and became an immediate success under Eirik Bakke. The 23-year-old delivered ten goal-scoring passes and four goals in his debut season – and it caught the attention of bigger clubs.

Several clubs in the Allsvenskan, including Djurgården, expressed their interest, in addition to several Elite Series clubs.

After considering several clubs, Eid finally chose to sign for IF Norrköping. There he is trained by former Brann boss Rikard Norling.

Eid has signed an agreement until 2025.

– It feels incredibly good. Getting the chance outside Norway is something I have worked towards all my life. To get the chance at a big and nice club like Norrkøping. It makes me overwhelmed, says Daniel Eid to Discovery on Friday afternoon.

In Sogndal, the former Hødd player has played wingback. That Norrköping also plays in the back line should have weighed heavily.

– Yes, that meant a lot. They are a very nice club, playing a football that suits my way of playing. The whole package was very tempting, and I decided quite early after they came on the field. It seems like the right step to take, Eid continues by phone from the Swedish club’s club premises.

In his new club, he becomes a teammate with Samuel Adegbenro, Jonathan Levi and Christopher Telo who all have a past in the Elite Series. Telo played on the right wingback last season.

Norrköping was number seven in the Allsvenskan last season.

Earlier this winter, both Even Hovland and Tomas Totland took the trip to the Allsvenskan. Both of them signed for Häcken.
