Leaked Honda ADV 160 Features! There is Traction Control and Tachometer

Jakarta

PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has again published a teaser of the figure of their new motorcycle candidate, allegedly ADV 160. In this video teaser, the shape of the instrument panel of the new motorcycle candidate is shown. Interestingly there is a traction control indicator and a tachometer!

The 15-second teaser video was uploaded to AHM’s official Instagram account, @welovehonda_id, Wednesday (29/6/2022). In the video, the instrument panel design is squared by adopting a negative display, namely a dark background and light writing.

There are several indicators displayed on the instrument panel. Starting from the clock, average consumption, and of course the fuel indicator. But there are other indicators that are displayed, namely the tachometer and a logo that reads HSTC.

For your information, the tachometer is an indicator of engine speed. The tachometer is usually found on sport motorbikes or motorbikes with a manual transmission system. On the ADV 160 instrument panel, the red line of the tachometer is at 10, which means 10,000 rpm.

While HSTC stands for Honda Selectable Torque Control, which has similar benefits to traction control features. The HSTC feature serves to limit engine torque if a difference in the rotational speed of the front and rear tires is detected, so that the potential for tire slippage can be avoided.

Currently, HSTC can be found on Honda’s Big Bike and Matic Premium models such as the Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin, Honda Gold Wing, CBR1000RR, X-ADV 750, Forza 250, and PCX 160.

The plan for the launch of the ADV 160 will be this week. In the invitation received by detikOto, the press conference for the launch of the new model was held on July 1, 2022. Looking at some of the teaser images that have been distributed, it is certain that the model is the All New Honda ADV 160.

Previously, Honda had a strategy of marketing the PCX 150, Vario 150, and ADV 150 using the same engine platform. The ADV 160 model will also use the same engine platform as the PCX 160 and the Vario 160 or Click 160.

The engine carries the eSP+ code with an increase in the number of valves from 2 valves to 4 valves and an increase in engine capacity from 149cc to 157cc, bore x stroke size is 60.0 x 55.5 mm and compression ratio is 12:1.

With a more powerful engine, capable of producing a maximum horsepower of 15.8 hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 15 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
