Leader who supported the position of secularism; Known member of the Legislative Assembly, Aryadan Muhammad

Aryadan Muhammad, Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the passing of Congress leader and former minister Aryatan Muhammad. He had a political background working both with and against the left. He was an important legislator. He was always ready to hold secular positions. In his condolence message, the Prime Minister also stated that Aryadan Muhammad was a socialist who excelled in presenting his arguments to the Assembly.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan said in a message of condolence that Aryathan Muhammad was the leader of the congressional movement in Malabar for seven decades. He was able to take uncompromising positions and be a complete layman in word and deed. It was Aryadan Muhammad who led the front and the party as a unit once, precisely resolving situations that appeared to cause a political crisis.

His life is an example for civil servants who are unwilling to compromise for the sake of secularism. He excelled as a great worldly person and administrator. The disappearance of Aryadan Muhammad is an irreparable loss for the Congress Party and the United Democratic Front. Sharing the pain of colleagues and family, said the opposition leader in his message of condolence.

K Sudhakaran, chairman of the KPCC, said that the brilliant public life of seven decades of Congress has come to an end. A perfect secular leader who carried the sentiments of Congress on his chest. Aryathan was distinguished from other leaders by his deep knowledge and courage to assert his political position before anyone. The leader who shouted loudly that the tradition, the glory and the ideals of Congress must not be handed over to anyone. Aryathan is a person who has always inspired student youth movements and has grown to be a leader of the common people. He was sent eight times to Nimaya Sabha from Nilambur constituency due to the approval of the people. He was also a leader who always represented suffering people.

Aryadha was a great administrator and a worldly person. He has a personality that can be admired by the new generation. It was he who implemented the unemployment wage and agricultural work pension while he was Minister of Labor. Time will always remember Aryathan’s skill and foresight in making strategic decisions and finding solutions to problems in any crisis.

Aryathan’s role in building Congress in the Malabar region is enormous. After entering the hospital, he contacted him by phone and asked about his health status. Like everyone, he believed that Aryathan, who had always lived a life of struggle, would get over the health crisis and return. But the sudden disappearance of him is unbearable. No one can fill the void Aryathan left in Congressional politics. I pray that his soul may have eternal peace. – said Sudhakaran.
