Le Matin – The Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Deaf Children and Youth and the Ministry of National Education are committed to promoting inclusive education

A framework partnership agreement was signed on Saturday in Tangier between the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people and the Ministry of National Education, vocational training, higher education and scientific research, in order to to promote inclusive education. This agreement was initialed by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Government Spokesman, Saaïd Amzazi, and the Director of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Children and young deaf people, Houcine El Hacini, during a ceremony marked by the presence of several personalities, in particular the coordinator of the Global Leadership Team (GLT) of the Lions Club Morocco, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, and the wali of the region of Tangier-Tetouan- Al Hoceïma, Mohamed Mhidia.
The framework agreement aims to promote the education of hearing-impaired children in schools and public universities, the rehabilitation of spaces for hearing-impaired children, the fight against dropping out of school in the field of disability, the encouragement and generalization of preschool education for hearing-impaired children; and capacity building of educational and administrative officials, as well as families, in the techniques and mechanisms of inclusive education for children with deafness. Under this framework agreement, the ministry undertakes to guarantee all the necessary facilities for the organization of the activities of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people, and for the capacity building of educational, administrative and medical officials, as well as than families when it comes to caring for children with deafness.
For its part, the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people will work to rehabilitate the reception spaces for deaf children, to guide families and to strengthen the administrative and educational frameworks working in the field of inclusive education within institutions. schools or those undergoing training at regional centers for education and training, as well as to organize awareness-raising and communication meetings to encourage the education of deaf children.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Mr. Amzazi said that the signing of this framework agreement, in addition to another agreement signed with the Lions Club Morocco, will strengthen the partnership in the areas of inclusive education. and early childhood education, noting that these are “two priority projects for which HM King Mohammed VI has given very clear and firm guidelines, for generalized and quality preschool and for inclusive education of all children, in order to facilitate their social integration and schooling ”.
The Minister mentioned, in this sense, the launch of the major national inclusive education project, initiated under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI on June 26, 2019, indicating that a real project is being carried out to be able to increase the number of beneficiaries of inclusive education. “This is a solemn occasion for me to pay a vibrant tribute to the exemplary work of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people, who has never ceased to prove her permanent commitment to improving the situation. people with disabilities and the most deprived populations ”, said Mr. Amzazi, noting that it is thanks to the infallible commitment of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa that each year young children suffering from deafness are accompanied medically by the most advanced techniques.
For his part, Mr. El Hacini said in a press statement that this agreement will create classes for the benefit of deaf children in a number of public education establishments under the Ministry of Education and located in several cities and provinces of the Kingdom, noting that the agreement will pay, in a first phase, special attention to preschool education, before generalizing these classes to other levels of public education.
In addition to the creation of inclusive education classes, the agreement also includes two essential points, namely the contribution to awareness through the organization of awareness meetings to encourage the schooling of children with deafness in education classes. inclusive, in addition to building the capacity of educational and administrative officials, who oversee the education and teaching of this category of children.
Following the signing of the two framework partnership agreements with the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people and the Lions Club Morocco, Mr. Amzazi and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Center for artistic awakening and literary of Tangier, under the provincial direction of National Education of Tangier-Assilah. This center includes an inclusive preschool room set up in partnership with the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for deaf children and young people, which will allow beneficiary children to exercise creative activities to support their integration into school life.
