Le Matin – New funding for the Moroccan project of the Saudi Bait Al Batterjee

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), of the World Bank group, has just announced a new financing of 108.5 million dollars by equity (capital investment) in favor of Humania which aims to develop its banners hospitals in Morocco and Egypt.

This funding includes $ 45 million from IFC’s equity and $ 63.5 million from other investors, including $ 43.5 million from IFU (Danish Investment Fund) and $ 20 million from Proparco. Humania is a subsidiary of the Saudi group Bait Al Batterjee Medical Company which plans to mobilize $ 360 million to invest in the medical sector in Morocco and Egypt. In Morocco, the project concerns the development of a general hospital with 150 to 210 beds in the Zenata Eco-city in Casablanca.

This is the second partnership between IFC and Humania in 7 months. In December 2019, IFC launched a $ 125 million Islamic financing program for the company.
