Lazio are just one step away from matching the most penalty records in a single Serie A campaign.
The execution of Ciro Immobile in Serie A continued on Sunday (28/6), marked Lazio’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico. The penalty invited debate because Felipe Caicedo’s position during physical contact with Bartlomiej Dragowski looked fifty-fifty.
It was the 15th penalty that Lazio earned throughout the 2019/20 Serie A season, more than any other club.
They already have 15 penalties in 28 weeks of running the competition, and have a great chance of breaking the most records in a season that was recorded by AC Milan with 18 penalties in the 1950/51 season ago.
Overall, Serie A this season has produced 133 penalties, far more than the 2018/19 season which was marked by 122 penalties.
Genoa became the second club in Serie A this season to get the most white points with 13 penalties, followed by Lecce and Juventus who both had 10 penalties, one with AS Roma having nine.
While Atalanta, Sampdoria and Inter Milan under them with eight penalties. Then there are SPAL with seven penalties, Fiorentina, Hellas Verona and Cagliari each with six. Bologna have five penalties, AC Milan four, Brescia and Sassuolo three, and Parma and Napoli two.

Only Udinese are the only club in Serie A this season that have never been awarded a penalty.
Statistics on the contrary, Lecce, Brescia and Torino became the rows of clubs that have been hit the most nine times, followed by Juventus, Udinese and Sassuolo eight times.
Lazio, interestingly, are bottom of the list after they have only received three penalty penalties this season.
