Gabby Shaw, an Englishwoman recently settled in the upscale suburb of New Canaan, Connecticut, goes to a rock concert with her high school friends. As she dances, someone pulls her top down and pushes her into the crowd, where she is stripped naked and raped by several men. Gabby identifies several young outsiders and a security guard, Frank, whom she accuses of having pounced on her. Nick realizes while questioning him that Frank, a former soldier, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He was disturbed by the fireworks from the concert and lay down on Gabby to protect her, as if she were a wounded soldier. The testimonies and videos make it possible to identify the young person who lowered the top of the victim. This is Louis, another high school student from New Canann. He ends up confessing that Gabby’s ex-boyfriend Alec paid him to play a “joke”: exposing Gabby’s chest in public and taking a picture to humiliate her.
