Lavrov, commenting on the conversation between Putin and Macron, said that its publication is allegedly “a violation of diplomatic ethics.” He also said that Russia is not ashamed of the way Putin speaks to other leaders.

“In principle, we are negotiating in such a way that we will never be ashamed. We always say what we think, and we are ready to answer for these words and explain our position,” Lavrov said.

Recall that a few days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone conversation with the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin. During the talks, the Russian president accused Volodymyr Zelensky of failing to implement the Minsk agreements, and Macron of trying to revise them.
