Launching a project to support reproductive health rights and combat female circumcision in Qalyubia

Al Qura Foundation for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with Plan International Egypt and the General Administration of Qalyubia Media, organized an introductory meeting on the project to empower youth and civil society organizations to support sexual and reproductive health rights and eliminate female circumcision and child marriage today, Wednesday, with the participation of the directorates of health, education, solidarity, youth, endowments and the National Council for Women.

Dr. Ramadan Arafa, Director General of the General Department of Information in Qalyubia at the State Information Service, confirmed that the meeting aimed to develop a coordination plan between the partners to educate and educate the various groups of society and urge them to adopt correct practices and information that benefit them in the field of sexual health and reproductive health in addition to combating female circumcision and child marriage.

Dr. Mona Al-Jilani, general coordinator of the project at Al-Qura Foundation for Sustainable Development, said that the project will be implemented in four villages in Qalyubia Governorate, namely, Al-Karam, Nob Taha, Minya Shebin Al-Qanater and Kom Ashfin.

Eman Ismail, Director of Plan Foundation in Qalyubia, praised the efforts made by Qalyubia Governorate in promoting cultural and societal values ​​and paying special attention to youth issues.
