Lauda’s widow Birgit breaks her silence and talks about the difficult time.

Love. In 2005 she saved the life of “her Niki”, as she calls him. In 2008 she promised to spend it with him until the end, and in 2019 his death came abruptly. Birgit Lauda (41) lost her great love and our hero Niki Nationale earlier than expected. A year later she talks about feelings and how to deal with the tragic loss.
Family. The Bunte now publishes the interview with Claudia Stöckl in full length. In the very beginning, Birgit admits that she went to psychological care with her children Max and Mia (10). “We try to actively work on ourselves by getting help. We try to become resilient to this situation and to emerge stronger from it. ”
Emotion. Her husband is missing 24 hours a day and she can only slowly find her way out of the “cloud of grief”. Because she is aware of one thing: “The relationship does not end with death. Death ends a life, but it does not end a relationship with a person. “
Lauda’s love goes beyond death
Stop. The common children are now the most important thing. They give Birgit Lauda hope: “The two look so similar to him and also have so many qualities of him – that of us, the three of us, is of course also helpful.” She is sure that Niki would have wanted them to be happy . However, pain and death will always be omnipresent.
